A poster project to promote the WCC Gala (aka graduating students portfolio show), originally scheduled for April 2020, which wasn't held due to COVID19.
My initial thought for this project was: who really cares that you're graduating? Who would come to your portfolio show? Mom, maybe Grandma. (right?) My first sketch was "Hey Mom, I'm graduating!" That evolved into a bigger concept -- why not include everybody's Mom, Grandma....or Auntie, neighbor, random stranger from the grocery store, etc? I could truly include "Everybody!" and encourage WCC Digital Media Arts students to actually invite anybody. They could easily grab a postcard to mail details of their graduation Gala (that never happened, le sigh, thanks 2020).
